Current issues and proposed measures regarding displacement suppression at transformer terminal sections.

We will introduce seismic devices for transformers that significantly improve the seismic resilience of substation systems.

The "Transformer Seismic Isolation Device (TTR Type)" that we handle has various features, such as improving the rigidity of the distribution board without hindering the effects of the installed vibration isolation device and suppressing the relative displacement with the transformer. This document discusses the current seismic standards for building equipment and how to effectively and reliably suppress displacement, proposing and introducing the seismic isolation device for transformers (TTR Type). We invite you to read it. Transformer Protection Often Overlooked in BCP Measures: Seismic Device for Transformers TTR

Seismic measures start with "transformers"! We achieve efficient disaster reduction measures (damage mitigation and early recovery).

The "TTR type" is a seismic device for transformers that significantly reduces the displacement of transformer terminal sections caused by large seismic motions, preventing large-scale power outages due to transformer damage. With the installation of TTR, a displacement of ±50mm or less at the terminal section has been achieved for all experimental seismic waves. Based on the building's response characteristics, it is possible to calculate and simulate the displacement of the transformer during an earthquake. In past earthquakes (such as in Eastern Japan and Kumamoto), the heaviest transformers in the cubicle were damaged, resulting in many cases where even if emergency generators were intact, electricity could not be extracted. Transformers are not readily available, meaning that operations would be suspended during that time. The TTR not only protects the transformer but also enhances the overall rigidity of the cubicle, contributing to the protection of various relays and LCBs. It enables efficient disaster reduction measures (damage mitigation and early recovery). 【Features】 ■ Significantly suppresses displacement caused by seismic motion with a special absorber at the top of the transformer ■ Effective against continuous earthquakes ■ Can be installed within the cubicle ■ Minimal changes to panel size due to TTR installation ■ Does not compromise the effectiveness of the installed vibration-damping device *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Power Supply BCP Measures: Seismic Device for Transformers 'TTR Type'

Seismic measures start with "transformers"! We achieve efficient disaster reduction measures (damage mitigation and early recovery).

The seismic isolation device "TTR type" significantly reduces the displacement of transformer terminal sections caused by large seismic motions, preventing large-scale power outages due to transformer damage. With the installation of TTR, a displacement of ±50mm or less at the terminal section has been achieved for all experimental seismic waves. Based on the building's response characteristics, it is possible to calculate and simulate the displacement of the transformer during an earthquake. In past earthquakes (such as those in Eastern Japan and Kumamoto), the heaviest transformers in the cubicles were damaged, resulting in many cases where emergency generators could not supply electricity even if they were intact. Transformers are not readily available, meaning that operations would be halted during that time. TTR not only protects the transformer but also enhances the overall rigidity of the cubicle, contributing to the protection of various relays and LCBs. TTR realizes efficient disaster mitigation measures. 【Features】 ■ Special absorbers at the top of the transformer significantly suppress displacement caused by seismic motions. ■ Effective even against continuous earthquakes. ■ Can be installed within the cubicle. ■ Minimal changes to panel size with TTR installation. ■ Does not compromise the effectiveness of the installed vibration isolation device. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
